...The Harder They Fall Generic Art Solutions @ Good Children Gallery Opens Sat 12th Oct at 6pm Then Saturday & Sundays from 12-5pm until Nov 3rd. If history has taught us anything, it is that wealth, power, and politics are inseparable bedfellows. No matter how idealistically they may begin, both businessmen and politicians inevitably become obsessed with winning each other‘s favor in their quest to obtain maximum personal gain and control over the populace that made them. After establishing themselves as people of influence, many seem to follow the well-worn (and degenerative) trajectory where their morality lessens as their power increases. As the British historian Lord Acton so accurately stated: “absolute power corrupts absolutely”. And, predictably, it is their financial and moral corruption that brings their downfall. The works in this show are illustrations of the crux of that transition from fame to failure, hence the title (the bigger they are) “…The Harder They Fall”. Contact info. tonycampbellgas@gmail.com
