The second Rock & Rouge Women's Music & Food Festival & Beyond - Come on out to our exciting, new location at Lafayette Square Park in the CBD from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. to experience this single-day women's empowerment festival. Attendees will enjoy live music, food + drinks, speakers, raffle prizes, our S.T.E.A.M. Tent for girls, and much more all day long! Our Women Who Rock Stage will feature all local, women-fronted acts, including our headliner Lena Prima, The Vettes, Lynn Drury, Big Pearl & The Fugitives of Funk, Muevelo, Shawn Williams, Sandra Love and the Reason, The Dirty Rain Revelers, and Sole Gaze. The Women's Empowerment Panels will also be returning, covering topics like local politics, business ownership, navigating the music industry, combating social and economic oppression, along with other diverse panelists and themes. The Rock & Rouge Foundation in conjunction with our local Microsoft branch will again host the S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) Tent for girls, featuring interactive workshops in all these fields to inspire and educate the next generation of independent, creative women. Additional local organizations and individuals invested in educational programs, focusing on ages 8 - 14, will also help cultivate these activities. New this year, we will have local women and music-oriented groups out at the festival to connect with the community about the important work they do for our city and its residents. Among these include Like-Minded Ladies, Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Women with a Vision, CitizenSHE, New Orleans Musician's Clinic - and more! Another new addition this year is our reserved seating, which can be purchased in advance and includes a wonderfully prepared picnic from Carmo, spearheaded by Chefs Christina and Dana Honn. Tickets for this will soon be available for purchase on our website therockandrouge.com and our Facebook page "The Rock & Rouge." The Rock & Rouge Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit based out of New Orleans, Louisiana that supports all forms of women's empowerment through improving and supporting educational opportunities for girls in the greater New Orleans area and supporting other women's projects throughout the year.
