We’re excited to continue our Third Thursday Summer Series in July with a bit of a bike theme running through it! Bike Easy will be in the playhouse offering a free bicycling safety workshop for those who are interested! They will be teaching about the rules of the road and the City of New Orleans: Bike initiative. The workshop will also include bike helmet fitting, a bicycle safety checklist, and collision avoidance. We will also be collecting donations for Rubarb Community Bike Shop! They'll take any bike that you are getting rid of, big or small, busted up or in good shape! If in decent condition, they will fix it up and get it to someone who will use it. If not worth it, they will strip it of it's parts and reuse them. They'll take anything bike related: wheels, tires, tubes, chains, helmets, seats, racks, baskets, etc. So bring those old bikes you've been keeping in the garage because you don't think Goodwill will want them along with the ones the kids outgrew last season. :) The gardens will be open from 5:30 - 7PM for all to enjoy! Bring a picnic to enjoy while the kids play under the oaks. We will have badminton, hula hoops, and beach balls like last time and are adding a sprinkler to help beat the heat!!Or you can BYO and find a cool place to sit tucked away in one of our other gardens. It is totally up to you!$5 suggested donation. RSVP’s are much appreciated. In the event of rain, Third Thursdays will not be held.
