Third Thursdays: Creating Pollinators

Longue Vue House

Do you want to see monarchs on Mondays? Lounge with the lady bugs? Sun bathe with swallowtails? If so, then plan to bee at May’s Third Thursday at Longue Vue to create your very own Pollinator Planter! The Discovery Garden will be a hive of activity as a member of our garden staff leads a hands-on demonstration on how to build an outdoor masterpiece using a selection of locally grown native plants that is sure to bring a buzz to your backyard. Bugs of all shapes and sizes can work magic in your garden and yard, and we’ll focus on the benefits of giving pollinators a place to relax and refuel. We’ll discuss what plants attract and host which insects along with when and where to plant them. The ticket price covers all you’ll need to build your own pollinator planter. Complimentary light refreshments will be served and this event is BYOB. At the end of the evening, you’ll have a wonderful pollinator planter to take with you so you can start attracting beautiful and beneficial insects as soon as you get home.
