The Loyola Society for Francophone Cultures continues its Tournees Film Festival TODAY, Thurs. March 25 at 7 p.m . with a virtual screening of Hyenas . Here's a quick summation of the plot: After being kicked out of her African village three decades earlier for getting pregnant out of wedlock, Linguere (Ami Diakhate) has returned home. While Linguere has done well for herself, her home village has fallen on hard economic times. Intent on punishing Dramaan (Mansour Diouf), the man who fathered her child but refused to own up to the act, Linguere makes a proposal: She will help the town financially, if the locals agree to execute Dramaan. The Tournées Film Festival is a program which aims to bring French cinema to American colleges and university campuses. The selection offers internationally acclaimed films including tonight's virtual screening of Hyenas at 7 p.m . and in the coming weeks on Thursdays at 7 p.m. through April 15, there will be screenings of Sibyl, All is Forgiven , and Varda by Agnès . There will be no charge for the screenings. This event is open to the Loyola Community.
