The Trio Griot is a collective of the Crescent City's finest musicians joined together for a spectacular evening of old school jazz. David Torkanowsky' s five-decade musical career began before he was born. His father was maestro of the New Orleans Symphony for more than a decade and his mother - a flamenco dancer - performed in Spain with the great Carmen Amaya. As a piano player and band leader, Torkanowsky is equally comfortable pushing the edges of jazz, funk, blues and rhythm and blues. Jamison Ross is a vocalist and drummer that delivers messages of humanity through the medium of jazz. In 2012, Ross' career began to take shape after winning the Thelonious Monk Jr. International Jazz Competition for his drumming. His 2015 debut release, "Jamison," introduced the world to his concept of rhythm and melody and also garnered a GRAMMY nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Originally from Bristol RI, Eric Bloom has grown into one of the most diverse trumpet players in the country. He has appeared on many TV shows, including the Craig Ferguson Show, the Carson Daly Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Today Show, the David Letterman Show, and the Conan O'Brian Show. Eric can be seen either on the road with Lettuce or performing around New Orleans with a number of artists.
