Ron Spooner is a Professional Civil Engineer, registered in both California and Louisiana. Ron earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and his M.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering from UNO. He has 23 years of experience with the California Department of Transportation and the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans. He has served in several capacities with the Sewerage and Water Board, including Gravity Systems Administrator and Chief of Networks before leaving the S&WB in 2004 for a position with Cal-Trans. After Hurricane Katrina, he returned to the S&WB to help rebuild the city. He is currently the Chief of Engineering. As part of his current responsibilities, Ron oversees the SELA Program, in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, a very large drainage capital improvement program.
