Voting Rights For Persons with Disabilities

Norman Mayer Library
Getting there
3001 Gentilly Boulevard, New Orleans, LA

According to Rutgers, if people with disabilities voted at the same rate as people without disabilities who have the same demographic characteristics, there would be about 2.2 million more voters. Voting is a powerful tool to get our voices heard as people with disabilities heard. However, many people with disabilities do not know the types of accommodations available to them. This training will go over the various accommodations that are available during the voting process. At the end of the training attendees will have the opportunity to register to vote as well.
