Create pedestrian -friendly/ complete streets design characteristics in the Metairie CBD. Being a pedestrian-friendly community is proven to create higher levels of sense of community and physical activity. We not only want to encourage local businesses to support each other, and promote staying local, but also to encourage the Metairie community to be active. Having access to a walkway for local employees, employers, and neighbors encourages people to walk to lunch at local eateries, explore other businesses near them, and allows local business marketing greater outreach!
