The Original Pinettes Brass Band performs on the GE Stage at Satchmo SummerFest at the U.S. Mint in New Orleans, Friday, August 2, 2019. The weekend festival from August 2nd-4th honors the birthday of famed New Orleans trumpeter and entertainer Louis Pops Armstrong on August 4, 1901, also known as Satchmo. Armstrong was nicknamed Satchel Mouth because of his large mouth and later when traveling abroad his nickname was supposedly shortened to Satchmo, though the nickname has other possible origins.
