Get Your Eating Pants Ready

This week, we all got to the polls and now we can ALL celebrate the end of political ad season. Perhaps one of the more talked about snafus in Louisiana for election day was the lack of stickers. We were just as shocked as you. But we saw creative substitutes, and some businesses offered a free beer for election day by just taking you at your word. But we’ve had our fill of politics for the week, and our stomachs are empty and ready to be filled with ballots of boudin, po-boys and unlimited draaanks. Get your eating pants ready because you’ll need the stretchy comfort to fully enjoy the weekend ahead.

Those Stickers

So, you didn’t get a sticker when you hit the polls. Neither did we. Le sigh. All the chatter on social media had the Secretary of State’s office address the lack of our Blue Dog voting stickers. The reason? It always comes down to money, and stickers didn’t make the budget.

Get Stuffed

Because you’re our frands, we’re looking to have you join us for our Friendsgiving event this weekend. Chef Syrena Johnson and Chef Theaudric Davis are cookin’ up an event with us at the Treme Market Branch on Saturday. Food, music and cocktails – all the fixins of a delicious evening. Seats are limited and it’s reservations only – so jump in and get your spot. Just make sure you have those stretchy pants ready when you get back home.

Speaking Of Those Stretchy Pants

You’ll need those comfy cotton sweats again because the Oak Street Po-Boy Fest is back with a smorgasbord of po-boys. There’s lobster po-boy, Godfather po-boy, creole sausage po-boy, po-boy lager – you get the idea. We’re all looking forward to those afternoon food naps.

Mark The Occasion

After filling your insides with deliciousness, you can get your outsides inked by the best of the best tattoo artists around. Villain Arts is holding its inaugural tattoo convention here in New Orleans. It’s happening at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and the convention will be up and inking late into the evening. It starts tomorrow at 2 p.m. Show off your tattoo with us – just tag us on Instagram @verylocalnola.

Hi. I’m Clint.
I’m the Local Market Manager for Very Local New Orleans. I’ve lived in New Orleans since 2001 and been living my best life in this rad place since that year.
I have 10 years of broadcast journalism and digital media experience. Before Very Local New Orleans, I worked for WDSU-TV – producing, product developing, digital media managing– I’ve done it all. I’ve seen first-hand the trials we’ve suffered in this city and the celebrations we’ve enjoyed. I love New Orleans. It’s home.
I’m going to work my hardest to bring you the content and experiences you care about to live your best life here in one of the best cities on the planet.
I love finding things to do here – concerts, food, drinks, nerding out, etc. And I love sharing those things with others.
Contact me via email. Gimme a shout on social. If you see something you think we should know about, hit me up. If you see something that needs fixing on the site, ditto. I want this website to be yours, too. Not just one I manage, but one we as a community and New Orleanians use to help us live our best lives.
