On March 29, anyone over the age of 16 can get a COVID-19 vaccination. If you’re looking for where to get vaccinated, here are some options:
Vaccines currently being given out are from Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. Pfizer and Moderna are two dose vaccines while Johnson & Johnson is one dose. All three vaccines have been authorized for emergency use by the FDA and are safe and effective, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.
Ochsner’s 24-hour “Vax Fest”
Ochsner said it will be distributing 6,500 first doses of Moderna and will have live entertainment throughout Monday’s 24-hour “Vaccine Fest”. Currently, only the Pfizer vaccine is approved for people ages 16 and 17. Because this event is distributing Moderna vaccines, only people 18 and up can make an appointment. New Orleans Convention Center
LCMC Health is running the mass vaccination site at the New Orleans Convention Center. You can call 504.290.5200 or click here to sign up for an appointment online.
Louisiana Department of Health Website
If you’re trying to help out family members in other parishes look up where they can get a vaccine, the state Department of Health website is broken down by parish. It includes smaller pharmacies that may be easier for people to get to in rural areas.
Walmart and Sam’s Club
Some Walmart locations are administering vaccines. You can sign up for an appointment online and even schedule a reminder.
