Editor’s Note: The 50th New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival brings together a bevy of musical performers to the Crescent City. And while it’s impossible to see EVERYONE, we aimed to target some local musicians that we love on Sunday.

Deacon John performs in the Blues Tent during the 50th New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Deacon John Moore has played at every Jazz and Heritage Festival since 1970 as a musician for other artists or as a headliner.

Ellis Marsalis and his son Branford enter for a family tribute to Ellis from his sons including Branford, Wynton, Delfeayo, and Jason Marsalis in the WWOZ Jazz Tent during the 50th New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. He performed during the first Jazz and Heritage Festival in 1970.

Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and the Golden Eagles Mardi Gras Indians perform during the 50th New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival at the Fair Grounds. Boudreaux performed during the first Jazz and Heritage Festival in 1970.

The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) Jazz Ensemble performs in the WWOZ Jazz Tent during the 50th New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival at the Fair Grounds.
