Think of all the krewes in one parade! The drive-thru event offers a safe alternative for those missing out on float parades this year.
There were over 40 floats from different krewes under the oaks on Roosevelt Mall in City Park Thursday night in New Orleans. “The Floats in the Oaks” allowed spectators to view big floats from Orleans and Jefferson Parishes like the Bacchawhoppa and Bacchagator, a giant whale and alligator in the Super Krewe of Bacchus, the Krewe of Muses Rubber Ducky, and the Boeuf Gras float, a giant bull, from the Krewe of Rex, and Mr. Big Shot from the Krewe of Zulu. The Pussyfooters of New Orleans Walking Krewe also performed in the neutral ground. Because of the cancellation and postponement of parades and gatherings for Mardi Gras 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the drive-thru event from Feb 4-14th offers a safe alternative for those missing out on float parades this year. Different walking krewes will perform on different nights. It appears the Krewe of Tucks may have tossed some toilet paper at the start of the parade by the City Park administration building.
