Trombone Shorty’s post-tour homecoming brings together local legends
Trombone Shorty’s home, y’all. After touring across the country on his “Voodoo Threauxdown” tour for the past two months, Troy Andrews, a.k.a. Trombone Shorty, is breaking it down for his hometown and bringing a star-studded local lineup with him to do it.
Saturday’s show at Champions Square includes names like Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, Partners-N-Crime and the New Breed Brass Band. Even more local musicians are expected to show up during the performance.
“I really wanted to give back to the city, and do whatever I can to try to bring it together,” said Shorty on the event website. “I thought it would be great to get musicians from New Orleans on the same bill as some other friends from the road and try to keep ticket prices low so that everyone in the city can come out—almost like a reunion or a homecoming.”
The concert starts at 6 p.m., and tickets range from $25-$95.
