What: “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”™ In Concert

The Harry Potter™ film series is one of those once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomena that continues to delight millions of fans around the world. This concert will feature the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra performing every note from “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone™.” Audiences will be able to relive the magic of the film in high-definition on a 40-foot screen while hearing the orchestra perform John Williams’ unforgettable score. What: Sno-Ball & Ice Cream Cone Shoe Workshop
When: 5:30 – 8 p.m.
Where: NOLA Craft Culture
Trying to step up your game for your Muses throws this year? Several shoe designs will be demonstrated, and participants will have a choice of hands-on building and glittering a Sno-Ball or Ice Cream Cone Shoe of their choice. Techniques taught include building cups onto shoes, working with foam and other materials to create structural effects, tips & tricks for making glittery fake food, mastering semi-sheer glitters, and mixing/blending (with a special emphasis on rainbow ombré). Sci High’s award-winning film ‘Like A Ship Without A Sail’ is being screened at The New Orleans Museum of Art as a part of the Fragmented Landscapes film series. The film won the grand prize in the Film Prize Junior competition. Click here for more information.
What: La Noche Caliente with Muevelo & Mambo Orleans
When: 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Where: Three Keys, 600 Carondelet Street

What started as a one-time performance of a tribute to Celia Cruz has now become New Orleans’ newest Latin music sensation, Muevelo, which means “move it” in Spanish. Lead singer Margie Perez and saxophonist Brent Rose lead a talented ensemble of musicians and vocalists that takes you on a musical journey to Cuba.

What: Funeral services for 5th Ward Weebie
When: Visitation begins at 9 a.m., services begin at Noon
Where: Mahalia Jackson Theater
New Orleans is saying its final goodbye to bounce pioneer and rap artist 5th Ward Weebie Sunday, who passed away Jan. 9. According to WWLTV, at noon there will be a service that is open to the public. A traditional second line procession will immediately follow the funeral service, and burial services will be private.
What: BrickUniverse New Orleans LEGO Expo
When: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Where: Pontchartrain Convention & Civic Center
Price: $15 online, $18 at the door
This fun, family-friendly event will have tons of amazing LEGO creations to gawk at, building zones to unleash your creative energy, and vendors selling the latest LEGO sets, mini-figures, and accessories. What: New Year, New Look: Clothing Swap Benefit
When: Noon to 6 p.m.
Where: The Drifter Hotel
Price: Free entrance with donation
Swing on by the Drifter Hotel for a New Year Clothing Benefit from 12-6pm. Swap out your clothes, accessories, and this past years looks for new or old treasures. Leftover items are always donated to a local organization in New Orleans. Previous donations have been made to Operation Restoration or Covenant House.
