Weekend Picks: Jazz Fest Round Two, Cinco De Mayo

It’s time for the second weekend of Jazz Fest! Every day this weekend is packed with fun, even if you don’t head to the fest. There’s May the Fourth for you nerds out there. and Cinco De Mayo Parties across the city.

Fri. May 3, 2019

What: Zoo to Do
When: 7 p.m. until midnight
Where: Audubon Zoo
Price: $175

It’s the wildest party of the year: Audubon’s Zoo to Do. The zoo opens up at night for its signature fundraising gala and black tie event. Food and drinks from more than 70 restaurants and 60 cocktail bars are included in the price of your ticket. Click here for more information.

What: NOJO honors Whitney Houston
When: 9 p.m.
Where: New Orleans Jazz Market

What: Geek Fest
When: 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Where: New Orleans Public Library Main Branch
Price: Free

This all-day event will feature authors, a cosplay fashion show, discussions, fan groups, film screenings, games, an out-of-this-world story time, workshops, and a few surprises. Character attire not required (but crowd favorites will be rewarded). Click here for more information.
