Now that Thanksgiving is over, the holidays are in full swing! This weekend packs lots of Christmas fun, plus a few extra laughs and a chance to celebrate one of Louisiana’s most beloved pop stars, baby, one more time.

Miracle on Fulton Street

On Friday Nov. 30, Fulton Street’s annual Christmas celebration kicks off. The display features an entrance through a giant illuminated ornament, a 30-foot Christmas tree and a new canopy of lights. Daily “snow” falls every hour and there is a gingerbread display in the Harrah’s Hotel Lobby. Nightly live music guests include Charmaine Neville, Vince Vance and the Valiants and Benny Grunch and the Bunch (think the “12 Yats of Christmas”). Live music starts at 5:30 p.m. Click here for more info.

New Orleans Neon Museum Fall Pop-Up

It’s lit! The New Orleans Neon Museum, located in the St. Claude neighborhood, is hosting its second pop-up show Friday night at 6 p.m.. Owner and neon collector Jerry Therio will be bringing neon pieces, as well as neon artists and craftspeople to the N. Robertson Street studios for neon artwork selfie stations, drinks and art. Krewe of Jingle Parade

What’s a holiday in New Orleans without a parade? This one is a little different, ringing in the Christmas season, but it’s no less fun. The parade features marching bands, stilt walkers, Santa himself. It kicks off at 1 p.m., at Lee Circle. Click here to see the parade route.

Krewe of Krampus

So you’re not the jolly type, and you’ve got a tinge of Scrooge in you. Check out the darker side of Christmas with the Krewe of Krampus parade at 7 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 1 in the Bywater. This krewe is based on an ancient Alpine legend called Krampusnacht, who takes care of all the naughty children, leaving the good ones for St. Nick. The throws are custom bells, ornaments, or lumps of coal, and you’ll have to face your fears and come up to one of the Krampus monsters to get one. Click here for route information.
